Talking With The Champion

Posted: 14 September by Brett Hoover in Athletes, Brown

Heps’ latest NCAA Champion — Brown javelin thrower Craig Kinsley — was recently interviewed by Mike Cardillo of his hometown paper, the Stamford (Conn.) Advocate. Click here for the interview.

Among the things that were revealed was how Kinsley concluded his summer after winning the NCAA crown and taking third at the U.S. Nationals with a huge heave of 256-3. Kinsley then joined up with a geological field survey from Indiana University in the wilderness of Montana.

The first NCAA Outdoor champion at Brown in more than a half century, Kinsley also offered insight to his hopes for the future. “I’d definitely like to be part of Team USA,” he told Cardillo. “I’d love to go to the Olympics. I’d love to make a living out of throwing javelin for a while, if I can.”
