After finishing behind only Heps defending champion Dan Chenoweth at the Harvard meet and being the first Ivy runner across the line at the Penn State Nationals, senior Jeff Perrella [Westfield, N.J.] is coming into Heps with high expectations … Even Coach Dan Ireland notes that he “is running extremely well.” … But former Irish junior champion Conor Dooney [Dublin, Ireland] is looking to give his teammate a run for his money … After all, Dooney was the first Yalie through the chute at Heps in 2009, taking 13th … “Our top runners have been different every meet we have run this season,” says Ireleand. “Junior Julian Sheinbaum [Scarsdale, N.Y.] and senior captain Max Walden [Guilford, Conn.] are both capable of having break out races.” … And, of course, Friday in Van Cortlandt Park would be a great time for that.
