When Penn’s success at Heps is to be discussed, the conversation starts with sophomore Leslie Kovach [Irwin, Pa.] … That’s because she has been consistently proven herself as the Red and Blue’s top runner, leading the team at the Iona Meet of Champions (second), the Paul Short Invitational (21st) and the Penn State Nationals (19th) … And while there are high expectations for Kovach on Friday, she actually finished one spot behind a Penn classmate — Margaret Diacont [Nazareth, Pa.] — at Heps a year ago … Two other youngsters, sophomore Megan Powell [Cranberry Township, Pa.] and freshman Catherine Phillips [East Aurora, N.Y.], have proven consistent scorers for Coach Gwen Harris’ squad.
