If there is a path to a Heps championship for the Lions, Coach Willy Wood knows where it begins … “Caroline McDonough [Darien, Conn.], Jackie Drouin [Lawrenceville, Ga.] and Julie Quinn [Bedford, N.H.] all have the potential to finish among the top 10 runners,” he offered. “We will need them to do so if we hope to actualize our goal.” … Drouin, a senior, has a history of performing in tense conditions, as proven by her Heps 1,500-meter title last spring … But McDonough, just a sophomore, has a much shorter resume … But it is filling up fast … She was the Lions top finisher at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals (15th overall in the Blue race) and was the first Ivy Leaguer across the line (13th) at the Paul Short Invitational … Quinn, a senior, was an NCAA regional qualifier in the steeplechase a year ago and is now making noise along the paths of Van Cortlandt.
