The story for the Cornell women is very similar to that of the Brown women … Like the Bears, the Big Red return four of its five scorers from 2009 and are paced this season by a newcomer … In Cornell’s case, it is freshman Devin McMahon [Redmond, Wash.] … Says Coach Lou Duesing, “McMahon has been our top finisher at our last two meets, going under 21 minutes for 6k on a sloppy Lehigh course and competing well against a very good feel at Penn State.” … In fact, she was the first Ivy finisher at the Penn State Nationals … Coach Duesing will also look to his ‘Double Ks.’ … Sophomore Katie Kellner [West Windsor, N.J.] led the Big Red at the Colgate Invitational and has had a terrific fall with consistency in her training and racing … Sophomore Kelsey Karys [Newton, Mass.] has also been very impressive with her work in practice and has seemed to race better as the season progresses.
